Implant Dentistry
At Pleasant Hill Dentistry, Dr Randy Bautista has been been providing Implant Dentistry from surgically placing to prosthetically restoring dental implants. Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide a fixed solution to having removable partial or complete dentures. Implants provide excellent support and stability for these dental appliances.
Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth (usually titanium) that are surgically placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by Dr Randy Bautista. The teeth attached to implants are very natural looking and often enhance or restore a patient’s smile!
Dental implants are strong and durable and will last many years. On occasion, they will have to be re-tightened or replaced due to normal wear.

What does getting dental implants involve
The process of getting implants requires a number of visits over several months.
Consultation:
Usually a consultation with Dr Bautista will review the medical history, current dental condition, X-rays and CT Scan is taken to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. Due to amount of bone or location additional x-rays may be needed to determine if location will be suitable for an implant.
Implant Placement:
At the implant placement visit, the area is numbed and the implant will be surgically placed into the bone and allowed to heal and integrate itself anywhere from 4- 6 months. After 2-3 weeks a follow up appointment would be made with Dr Bautista to verify healing and remove any sutures that may still exist.
Abutment and Crown
After 4 to 6 months of healing or osteointegration (healing of the bone to the titanium implant) digital scan implant and abutment are made in order to make the crown. Depending on the system being used this step may take up to one to two months to complete. After a healing period, the artificial teeth are securely attached to the implant, providing excellent stability and comfort to the patient.
You will receive care instructions when your treatment is completed. Good oral hygiene and eating habits, alongside regular dental visits, will aid in the life of your new implant.
